Adventures in Liverpool / Photo extravaganza

Hi all,

Here’s a quick rundown of recent events - we just spent a few days in Liverpool to see family and friends and celebrate Uncle Ian’s 40th birthday (and Daddy’s 44th).

Mon 23 - traveled up in just over 4.5 hours. Tea at Granny Jean's and Oz came to say "hi".

Tue 24 - we went to visit Linda and Adam in the morning and in the evening Grandad Ozz, Ian and Sarah came over to Granny Jean’s for a few drinks and a chat... nice.

Wed 25 - the folks took me for a “sleep-drive” to the Wirral and we drove through / saw Hoylake, West Kirby, Irby, Pensby and New Brighton including a stop off at Carl and Louise's to see them and their kids; Max and Georgia (and Luke the lizard). We also went down to the prom and onto the beach to build a couple of sandcastles... see pictorial evidence below.

Thu 26 - Uncle Ian’s birthday - so we went shopping in town, followed by lunch in this posh pub and the grown-ups all had a few drinks at Granny Jean’s in the evening once I’d gone to bed.

Fri 27 - we had a trip to Coronation Park and met a lovely cat there, then we nipped in to Val and Mario Snr's for quick hello, and went off to Crosby beach (w. sandcastles again!) - with Granny Jean also tagging along. Once Mum and Dad had put me to bed, they snuck out for a drink to the village, starting in, erm The Village (nice up to date site), then on to The Pioneer and ending up in old favourite The Crows Nest. Out at half eight, in just before midnight...

Sat 28 - another “sleep-drive”, this time to Southport, followed by a party ‘round at Ian and Sarah's (3.45pm - 8.30pm) including the following guests; Peter Wilson and daughter Ellie, Mandy and son Alex, Peter Levick and wife Jennifer, Richard, Sue and their three girls, Ian and Sarah (duh, obviously), Granny Jean, Grandad Ozz, Mum, Dad

Sun 29 - our final day up north, but we didn’t slack off with our catching up as we were visited at Granny Jean's by Uncle Steven with his girls Stephanie and Kate, followed by Mario and Vicky with their three girls; Emily, Ava and Maddison... Phew!

What a lot of names and faces to remember... but I (nearly) did it!

Lincolnshire take over!

Wow - what a busy weekend I've just had!

Friday saw the arrival of cousins Joe, Beth and Katy, plus Aunty Sarah and Uncle Andy to stay for a couple of nights... and on Sunday, Grandma Anthea and Grandad Tony turned up for an hour or two on the way back from a family wedding near Brighton.

On the Friday we just chilled at home and had the classic 'pizza Friday' tea, and on Saturday we set off for the Science Museum, but due to excessive tiredness, I didn't make it past the cafe before needing to head out for a sleep. So we left them to explore and I'll get to see it all another day...

Sunday and we had just enough time to hit the park so I could show everyone my stylish swinging abilities (slide too) before they all had to hit the road to get back home in time for tea... looking forward to seeing you all again Lewis's - thanks for coming!

Love,

Samantha

Midweek update

Hi all,

Sorry for lack of writing lately - busy a little bee, but also been ill since Friday - full of cold & snot (eww) and teething pains too. Last Friday I had a bad night waking virtually every hour on the hour for a little cry / attention and thankfully Mummy was there in my hour(s) of need...

Saturday wasn't great, but as the weekend wore on I felt a little bit better and Mummy & Daddy took me for a walk to have a sleep in the afternoon (on Sunday it was Dad flying solo) and by Monday I felt nearly normal...

But enough of my woes, I'm loads better today so here's a couple of pics for your pleasure...

Monday catch up

Hi all,

Firstly HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY to cousin Jack in Australia - it's already the day after his birthday down under, but it's still August 2nd here for a few hours yet... : )

This weekend I was 'home alone' with Dad as Mum had a girls night out in Harrogate with Aunty Julie. I think Dad was more nervous than he was letting on, but we had a great time and Dad's certainly not worried about making himself look stupid for the sake of my entertainment!

We went for a long walk on both days (mainly so I could snooze) and on Saturday we went to the park so I could (re-)claim rightful ownership of my swings, slide and see-saw (which I did).

This week I took a new approach to the slide by first swinging on the top bar before dropping onto the slide from a small (but worrying) height. The attached video clip should give you a rough idea but it was an early attempt, hence the slightly jaunty angle down the slide and Daddy's nervous sounding "whooo" as I hit the deck ; )

Showing Daddy what's what...

"where's 'Mantha?" (well camouflaged in my top)

Ta ta,
